History of the Company

Dakota Farm Mutual Insurance Company is a state-wide farm mutual insurance company doing business in South Dakota since 1886. In 1999, in order to provide better services to members and in an attempt to reduce costs, Dexter Farm Mutual Insurance Company merged with Deuel County Farm Mutual. Under this merger, the Companies now do business state-wide under the name Dakota Farm Mutual Insurance Company. In June 2000, the Douglas Farm Mutual Insurance Company and in January 2005, the Hutchinson Farm Mutual Insurance Company were merged into Dakota continuing the companies expansion and presence in South Dakota.
